“Dutch Caribbean” was photographed on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten on a particularly eye catching afternoon. Shot on film with a vintage Nikon FM camera and a special blur lens, the image emphasizes the movement of the waves.

This series is inspired by glimpses of being on holiday, wherever that may bring one around the world. It could be a small intimate moment, memories of the day, or a grand vista.

Carrie Weidner is inspired by raw, spontaneous and candid moments anchored by a love of tradition and a reverence for true, timeless beauty and classic composition. She immerses her subjects in a world that is part real, part imagination, so the results inhabit a place that feels both new and nostalgic.

All works in the collection are dated and editioned in verso and hand sealed on the bottom right hand corner, in an edition of 15 each.
